Recipe: Pam’s Homemade Hummus

Hummus is a traditional dish from the  super healthy anti-cancer  Mediterranean Diet packed with vegetarian/vegan  protein from chickpeas, healthy fats from sesame tahini and olive oil and antioxidant herbs cumin, cayenne, parsley and coriander.

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas
  • 1 1/4 cup tahini
  • 4 Tbsp lemon juice- to taste
  • 4 garlic cloves- crushed
  • 1/4 c. ice cold water
  • cumin to taste
  • blend until consistency you desire
  • top with drizzle of olive oil and cayenne
  • garnish with fresh parsley or coriander (cilantro) leaves
