Recipe: Homemade Sugar-Free Lemonade

Lemons are an excellent source of vitamin C, an essential nutrient that protects the body against immune system deficiencies.

Even better, lemon is a fruit that contains flavonoids, which are composites that contain antioxidant and cancer fighting properties.

Lemons also contain pectin fiber which is very beneficial for colon health. In fact, lemon has been shown to be therapeutic for throat infections, indigestion, rheumatism, burns, respiratory disorders, and high blood pressure.

This recipe makes it so simple to have fresh, homemade lemonade on hand, you’ll never go back to mixes.

Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Dairy Free

Ingredients

64 oz (8 cups) water
1/4 cup (equivalent of two lemons) lemon juice
8 scoops (1/4 tsp) pure stevia extract, to taste (you may substitute approximately 1/2 cup of a granulated or liquid sweetener to taste)

Preparation

1. Pour water into pitcher.

2. Add lemon juice and stevia.

3. If using a granulated sweetener, mix 1/2 cup water and the sweetener in a pot and heat until the sweetener is dissolved.  Once dissolved, add sweetener and water mix to remaining water.

4. Stir, pour lemonade over ice and drink up to your health!
