Stress and Depression are linked to Cancer. Nearly one in five women surveyed by the CDC said they had been raped or had experienced an attempted rape at some point, and one in four reported having been beaten by an intimate partner. The impact is not only psychological but physiological. Her health declines. Her risk for cancer and other diseases goes up.
Stress of all types damages our immune system and makes us more vulnerable to infections and cancer. By resting in tranquility and equipose, even for five or ten minutes, we begin to repattern our nervous system and our stress response.
