Prepare for Radiation Exposure: Steps to Take Now

Although the US Government and the press are downplaying the risk of US citizens to radiation exposures from Japan, the Center for Disease Control is conducting a weekend of training for physicians and public health officials on this very scary topic and very real risk.

There are steps you can take now. Start taking and continue to take a broad spectrum of anti-oxidant supplements to protect your cells from radiation exposures.

At this time, it is not recommended to use Potassium Iodide. However, I am recommending that all of my patients increase their intake of antioxidant nutrients for general protection from low levels of radiation exposures.

Radiation reaching the US from Japan is of particular concern to those living in Hawaii and on the West Coast of the US. All US ports up and down the Pacific coast are screening passengers, luggage and cargo from Japan for radiation.

We know that the jet stream will bring radioactive fallout from the Japanese nuclear reactors to the United States. At this time, the amount of radioactive fallout that arrives to the US Pacific coast is highly diluted due to the long distance it travels. But the risks are no longer zero. Any amount of radiation exposure causes some damage to our cells. Should there be a true reactor meltdown and a release of significant amounts of radioactive fallout into the atmosphere, there will be contamination delivered to the US on the winds of the jet stream.
