A Natural Prescription for Health & Memory

Blueberry Blueberries Health MemoryBlueberries!!!

Today, blueberries have a rockstar reputation among fruits.

Blueberries are a rich source of Vitamins C and K and the important trace mineral manganese; all required for healthy bones, tendons and ligaments.

Blueberries are also the richest food source of pterostilbene, a close relative of longevity promoting resveratrol. Pterostilbene has been shown to slow down brain aging and support memory and lucidity.

Along with fiber, blueberries contain powerful phytochemicals called anthocyanins, super cell protective antioxidants, which give these berries their deep blue color.

Blueberries are also rich in cancer fighting plant catechins, flavonoids such quercitin and ellagic acid (also found in raspberries and pomegranates).

Blueberries make the perfect snack and can be used for sauces, salads, in shakes and herbal teas. Try adding some flax seeds and blueberries to yoghurt or to whole grain muffins.

I take my miniblender or a shaker bottle along with dried blueberries with me when I travel so that I can soak them and add them to my morning shakes.

Yes…I take a little blender in my suitcase and make a smoothie in my hotel room! It’s the best way to get a healthy, nutrient rich, high protein, high fiber, sugar free, gluten free breakfast when on the road!!
